Seedance 2.0
What is Seedance 2.0?
Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's video generation model, released in February 2026. It takes text, images and video as input and returns cinematic clips of 4 to 15 seconds at up to 1080p and 24fps. Its strength is motion: camera moves that read as deliberate, characters that stay themselves across a shot, and physics that behave. On APImage it runs in the same studio and out of the same credit pool as every other model, so switching from a Flux still to a Seedance clip is a dropdown, not a second subscription.

What Seedance 2.0 does that the others do not.
Motion that obeys physics
Weight, momentum and contact behave the way a camera would record them. This is the model that stopped video generation looking like a slideshow with a pan on it.
Nine references, addressable
Tag up to nine images and three clips, then call them from the prompt. A product, a face and a location stay recognisably themselves from the first frame to the last.
Video to video
Feed it a clip and restyle it. Keep the blocking and the timing you already shot, change the look, the wardrobe or the world around it.
Real 1080p
Native 1080p at 24fps, not an upscale of a smaller render. Six aspect ratios, so the vertical cut is a setting rather than a crop.
Where it earns its credits in real work.
Product films
Orbit a product, rack focus onto the detail that sells it, and land on the pack shot. Motion is where Seedance earns its credits.
Action and VFX
Chase beats, weather, debris, water. The physics hold together at speeds where most models smear.
Restyling footage you own
Video to video takes a clip you already shot and moves it somewhere else entirely, without recasting or reshooting.
Social cutdowns
Same take, six aspect ratios. Render the 9:16 and the 16:9 from one prompt instead of cropping and hoping.
Storyboards that move
Fifteen seconds is enough to sell a sequence internally before anyone books a crew.
- 1Open the video studio and pick Seedance 2.0 from the model dropdown.
- 2Write the shot. Say what moves, where the camera goes, and how it is lit.
- 3Add up to nine reference images or three clips, and call them from the prompt.
- 4Set resolution, aspect ratio and length, then generate. The credit cost is shown before you commit.
Seedance 2.0 is not the right answer to everything. Your plan includes all of them, so switching model costs nothing.
Seedance 2.5
You need sound, a longer take, or more than nine references.
