What is image compressor?
An image compressor reduces a file's size by re-encoding it at a lower quality setting or in a more efficient format, trading detail you cannot see for bytes you can measure. APImage's compressor runs in the browser, shows the original and the compressed version side by side with both file sizes, and lets you move the quality slider until the saving stops being worth it.
- 1Drop in an image. Large photographs benefit most.
- 2Move the quality slider and watch the file size and the preview together.
- 3Switch format if it helps. WEBP is usually 25 to 35 percent smaller than JPG at the same quality.
- 4Download when the saving is worth the loss.
